Kozo encaustic scrolls

A pair of encaustic scrolls (12 x 92") created on kozo paper.  I am working in encaustic monotype on my new hot box.  It is amazing what happens -- no need for a press -- the heat of the hot box fuses the encaustic medium onto the kozo paper.

Medium of Choice

I've been working in encaustics for about two months now and I am thoroughly in love with wax. Encaustics allow me to work thin or thick, transparent or opaque -- I can scrape, carve or etch into the surface. I've been using original drawing transfers to embellish the surface to create paintings which reflect my love of nature.
